Cramps, bloating, mood swings and a whole bunch of other problems will be routine intruders during menstruation. They are caused due to hormonal changes and irregularities. The taboos around menstruation make it difficult to lead a practical conversation. Here I’ve jotted down a few handy tips and attached a short menstrual Yoga flow for y’all to follow.

Foods to eat and drink
- Ginger tea.
- Turmeric milk.
- Water-rich fruits.
- Potassium-rich foods like bananas, dark chocolates.
- Green tea or Lemongrass tea.
- Last but not least, water. Keep yourself hydrated.
*Tracking your periods– tracking your periods will help you understand your cycles, symptoms, your most fertile period, a potential health issue can also be identified. There are several free apps available online that help in the same like Flo, Period Calendar etc.
*Using hot water bags/bottles/pads, taking a good hot water shower improves blood flow to the uterus and relaxes your muscles hence relieving cramps and pain.
*Meditation– Releases any mental stress and helps lower the anxiety
*Pranayama– Relaxes the mind and body and also helps relieve pain by improving circulation.
